Is my fitness level high enough for Personal Training?
Of course! Our Personal Trainers work with clients of all different fitness levels. We will design an individualized fitness plan for YOU based on YOUR fitness level to provide the appropriate workout to fit YOUR needs.
How often should I train with a Personal Trainer?
If you are new to exercise, working with a trainer 2-3 times/week is recommended. If possible, training should not occur on consecutive days to allow the body time to rest and heal.
Will Personal Training help me lose weight?
Weight loss = Personal Training. The number one goal for the majority of Personal Training clients is to lose excess weight. Our trainers will create a fitness program that includes the appropriate amount of muscle building and cardiovascular training to maximize weight loss. Our trainers can also make recommendations for proper nutrition and supplementation to assist with weight loss.
Why can't I just do cardio?
Cardiovascular training is great for building strong hearts and lungs, but it doesn’t allow your body to build bigger, stronger muscles and bones. Adding strength training to your program will allow your body to develop stronger muscles, and target muscles you don’t typically use during cardiovascular training. Increased muscle strength will also allow your body to burn more calories, which also assists in weight loss.
How quickly will I see results?
You will FEEL the results sooner than you will SEE results. Improved sleep, mood, and energy levels are typically the first noticed changes in new clients. By being consistent with the workouts and adhering to your nutrition plan, you may start to see some body composition changes within a few weeks.
What if I have some previous injuries?
We may require clearance from a doctor to make sure the injury is in a place where our trainers can safely begin rehabilitation and strength training. It may also be in your best interest to work with a Physical Therapist, but each scenario is different, and we recommend talking with our trainers about your specific injury. Often we just work around the injury, or begin by strengthening the muscles around the injury, then slowly reintroduce movements back to the injured area.
